NCKU hosts its 2015 commencement ceremony

[Tainan, Taiwan, June 8, 2015]
The 2015 National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) Graduate Commencement Ceremony was held on June 6 honoring approximately 6,000 students, including undergraduate, master and doctoral students.

Legislative Speaker Jin-Pyng Wang, Tainan Mayor Ching-Te Lai, and Former Minister of the Interior Hong-Yuan Lee were invited to attend the ceremony.

NCKU President Huey-Jen Jenny Su extended a warm welcome to all the guests, wishing the graduates well in their next adventures.

In her remarks, NCKU President Su urged the graduates to follow their passions, make their marks in the society, and always give back to others.

With its 84-year history, NCKU has grown into a research-led comprehensive university with high reputation in many fields, according to Su who motivated the graduates go beyond what is expected and make a difference.

She also encouraged graduates to care and help change the community, country and the world.

Legislative Speaker Jin-Pyng Wang said that he was very much impressed by the contribution NCKU made in nurturing the talents in the country.

He encouraged graduates to take risks and care about others more than themselves as they endeavor to fulfill their dreams.

Former Minister of the Interior Hong-Yuan Lee who is also an NCKU Alumnus advised the graduates to think outside the box and explore the world with positive attitude.

He also noted that EQ is more important than IQ and always learn from the mistakes.

Tainan Mayor Ching-Te Lai congratulated all the graduates and invited them to stay and lead a promising life in Tainan City.
