NCKU held freshman orientation camp to welcome new students

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan, held a three-day orientation camp to welcome the freshmen who are anticipating the coming of new semester, starting from September 12.
More than 3,000 new students gathered together in the opening ceremony of the 2014 Freshman Orientation Camp to celebrate the beginning of their four-year study at NCKU.
Dr. Huey-Jen Jenny Su, NCKU Executive Vice President, on behalf of NCKU President Hwung-Hweng Hwung welcomed the new students to join the big family of NCKU.
A total of 3,020 new students to join NCKU, according to the university, and the engineering college took up the biggest student population with 1,062 students.
NCKU Executive Vice President Su said that entering college for many students is a brand new start of independent life. The interrelation with people will be varied and flexibility and autonomy of learning will be added.
She advised the students to manage the four years wisely, get good grades and care about the happenings in the society and the world.
